A HOME FOR JEWS IN WATERTOWN
Chabad Watertown is creating a permanent Jewish community center where every Jew can learn, celebrate, connect, and feel at home.
Since Rabbi Dovid and Shternie Zaltzman established Chabad Watertown five years ago, the community has grown from small gatherings into a vibrant network of families, children, young adults, and seniors. Today, our programs have outgrown our available space.
Our Plan
We are actively seeking to purchase a permanent property that will serve as the central address for Jewish life in Watertown. The new center will include:
- A Shul and Library
- A social hall for Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, and community events
- A children’s wing
- A playground
- An adult lounge and welcoming place to meet and connect
- A kitchen for community meals and food-assistance programs
- An outdoor patio for family and social gatherings
The center will provide a welcoming home for weekly Shabbat services, Hebrew school, children’s programs, adult education, holiday celebrations, young-adult events, community meals, pastoral support, and acts of kindness throughout Watertown.
Dedication opportunities are available for individuals and families who would like to sponsor a room or important feature of the center.
This is our opportunity to build a lasting home where Watertown’s children can grow up proud of their Jewish identity, adults can experience genuine connection and belonging, and every Jew can know that they have a place.
